Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

ArchBIM is operated by Sanjiv Kapila, an individual developer based in India. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our website (archbim.co.in) or our Revit add-in software. You can reach us at support@archbim.co.in.

2. Information We Collect

2a. Our Website

Our website is hosted on GitHub Pages. We do not operate our own analytics, tracking scripts, or cookies. GitHub Pages may log standard server access data (IP address, browser type, pages visited) in accordance with GitHub's Privacy Statement. We do not have access to or control over these logs.

2b. The Add-in Software — Local Mode (Default)

Our Revit add-ins are designed with privacy in mind. By default, all data stays on your machine:

• No personal data is transmitted. Export features (Roominess, ClashView, xlConnect) save files locally. When you drag a file onto our web apps, everything is processed in your browser — no data is sent to any server.
• Trial management is local only. The 30-day trial stores a start date and a verification token in your Windows registry (HKCU\SOFTWARE\ArchBIM). This data never leaves your machine.
• Machine fingerprint. To prevent trial abuse, a non-reversible fingerprint (derived from your Windows user SID) is used to tie the trial to your machine. This value is stored locally and is never transmitted.
• No telemetry. We do not collect usage statistics, crash reports, or any other telemetry.

2c. Cloud Sharing (Optional, Opt-in)

Some add-ins offer an optional cloud sharing feature that lets you generate a shareable link to your exported data. This feature is disabled by default and requires your explicit consent before any data is uploaded.

• What is uploaded. Project data only — element names, categories, coordinates, and clash results. No personal information, no Revit model files, no credentials.
• Encryption. Data is encrypted in transit via TLS 1.2+ and at rest via AES-256 on Microsoft Azure servers.
• Access. Uploaded data is accessible only via a unique, unguessable link (UUID). There is no public index or search.
• Auto-deletion. All uploaded data is automatically and permanently deleted after 7 days.
• No analytics. We do not index, analyse, or share your uploaded project data.
• Your control. You can enable or disable cloud sharing at any time from the ArchBIM Assistant settings, or by editing the registry key HKCU\SOFTWARE\ArchBIM\CloudUpload. Enterprise IT administrators can disable cloud sharing organisation-wide via Group Policy.

3. Payments

Payments for license keys are processed by LemonSqueezy (a service of Lemon Squeezy, LLC), which acts as Merchant of Record. When you make a purchase, your name, email address, and payment details are collected and processed by LemonSqueezy — not by us. Please review LemonSqueezy's Privacy Policy for details on how they handle your data.

After a successful purchase, LemonSqueezy delivers your license key by email. We receive a notification of the sale (order ID and email address) solely for the purpose of customer support.

4. Email Communications

If you contact us by email, we will use the information you provide (your email address and message content) solely to respond to your enquiry. We do not add you to any mailing list without your explicit consent.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties, except as required by law or as described in Section 3 (payments via LemonSqueezy).

6. Data Retention

We retain email correspondence only as long as necessary to resolve your enquiry. Trial and license data stored locally on your machine can be removed by uninstalling the add-in or deleting the relevant registry keys.

7. Your Rights

You may contact us at support@archbim.co.in to request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal data we hold about you (such as email correspondence).

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be noted on this page with an updated effective date.
